Interesting to note is the absolute critical fact that much of the gospel preached in our churches today is not the kerygma that the Apostles preached in the first century churches! Kerygma is a Greek word used to denote that the gospel was in Christ! In Christ refers to the fact that the gospel message was transmitted by the Holy Ghost to the Apostles through ecstatic revelatory experiences garnered as they sought the mind of Christ to not only render effective leadership in the church but also to be the very mouthpieces of their Lord in honor of what he accomplished for them in His death, burial, and resurrection! The Apostles gospel being in Christ (kerygma) was a direct correlation of them having the mind of Christ which occurred when their minds (through ecstatic revelatory experiences) would go beyond themselves but not outside of themselves (as in demonic possession) in order to garner what was in the heart of their Lord in any given epoch of time! From a theological point of view this quality of thinking is referred to as “theonomous thinking” or ratiocination (logical process) that seeks identity with the very essence of Christ as the Living Word! Jesus Christ in proceeding from the Father as the Living Word (homoousios), would in revelatory fashion, express words that would proceed from Him denoting what the essence of the gospel to be proclaimed was to be! Words like repentance, sin, hell, torment, iniquity, forgive, believe, etc. Essential words expressed by the Living Word so that His message would saliently stand alone from all other messages in the world! The Kerygma of Christ is exclusive to all other gods, false ideologies, pseudo and quasi religions, rudiments of epistemological knowledge, etc. Be gravely concerned fellow preachers, theologians, servants of the Lord Jesus Christ, that rendering any other message not born of the kerygmatic essence of The Living Word Jesus Christ will indelibly imprint on your seared reprobate conscience His statement of adjudication when He states: “Depart from me you worker of iniquity”!
