Christ Kingdom> Civil Conduct

Romans chapter 13 is the standard every believer is to conduct themselves by as it relates to civil law and political power. The substratum of this standard is based upon the two great commandments given by Jesus when challenged by the religious powers of his time: “Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul, mind, and strength> (the second being like it) Love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no need to fear any governing powers when your absolute trust is in the Lord. The same God that turned King Nebuchadnezzar out to the field like a insane beast until he acknowledged Yaweh’s sovereignty, the same God that reduced four major world empires through several millennia to a fleeting thought, the same God who on May 14, 1948 birthed the nation of Israel in one day fulfilling Old Testament prophecy to the utter dismay of the League of Nations (U.N.), the same God that brought warriors from all over the world to break and destroy Hitler, the Third Reich, and the Axis powers without remedy is the “same” God that is able to deliver us from wayward civil and governmental powers by His mighty power. We will not bow but we must respect the structures given by our Sovereign King the Most High God out of respect and love for Him. Judgment is His and He will repay where His word is violated. He is calling us to be vigilant, sober minded, and to walk in a demonstration of His power and Spirit towards a watching unbelieving world. One Love in Christ and may the Spirit be in you!
